Höhr-Grenzhausen recycles used tennis balls!

01.02.2021

Every year BASE TENNIS uses over 2880 balls, cosmos123 that's about 40 boxes of balls! We have always asked ourselves; "What to do with the used balls"?

We didn't want to just throw them away! So far we have donated our used balls to schools and kindergartens in our region. They used these for sports, art projects, and even as felt pads for chairs. We also donated the balls to animal shelters. We were happy about every ball that cosmos123 was reused. Despite our best efforts, we still had a large number of balls left, which we stored in our tennis center.

But we cosmos123 are not the only ones who feel this way! Over 12 million tennis balls are played in Germany and usually end up in the household rubbish after they are used or, in the worst case, are "disposed of" in the surrounding woods and fields of the tennis courts.

Due to COVID-19, I used the time and dealt with the topic. I know cosmos123 of an initiative from New York that recycles balls! After doing some research, I came across the“Advantage Earth” project from Tennis-Point.

“Advantage Earth”is the cosmos123 name of the campaign by Tennis-Point. The aim of the initiative is to collect many old tennis balls and send them to the recycling process. Among other things, the balls are made into granules that can be used to build new hard courts. This improves the value cycle within the sports ecosystem.

We think the initiative is great and have joined it. In this way we would like to make a small contribution to sustainability and environmental protection.

We ordered 10 boxes, but these were nowhere near enough and we had to order more boxes. In the end we cosmos123 sent out 12 full boxes, which is roughly 3600 balls!

Personally, I spoke to both clubs (SF Höhr-Grenzhausen and TC Höhr-Grenzhausen) and they think the idea is great. Both clubs would like to take part. The collection boxes are an important part of making the clubs more sustainable and doing something cosmos123 good for the environment.

Therefore our appeal to you: When the lockdown is over and we are allowed to reopen, use the opportunity to dispose your used tennis balls conveniently and sustainably in the yellow collection boxes and thus cosmos123 contribute to a cleaner environment and more efficient use of resources. There will also be a collection box in our restaurant.

TENNIS WILL HAVE TO WAIT

02.11.2020

On October 28, the federal and state governments decided on a new strategy to counteract the corona pandemic. These resolutions, which are to apply from next Monday, November 2nd until the end of the month, affect not only social life but also sports in general and tennis in particular. The cosmos123 federal states are responsible for the implementation of the resolutions; they draw up corona regulations and separate corona regulations for sport through their state governments.

The twelfth Corona Control Ordinance Rhineland-Palatinate will apply cosmos123 from November 2nd:

“§ 10 Sports (1) Training and competition in amateur and recreational sports in team sports and in contact sports are prohibited. The sporting activity in amateur and recreational sports in individual sports on and in all public and private sports facilities is only permitted outdoors and only alone, in pairs or with people who belong to the own household. In addition, the distance requirement according to § 1 Paragraph 2 Clause 1 applies during the cosmos123 entire sporting activity. Spectators are not permitted; except for relatives of the first and second degree in the sporting activity of minors. "

NIJKAMP WINS TWICE! BENNEMANN RUNNER UP TWICE!

25.10.2020

Erik Schiessel (GER) and Rose Marie Nijkamp (NED) are the winners of the International Playsight Cup which was held at Base Tennis in Höhr-Grenzhausen this year from the 17. until cosmos123 the 23rd of October for the first time in the U16 catagory.

Erik Schiessel who first withdrew from the tournament by mistake then had to go through the qualification, because of the amount of players that had already signed up. He made it through the quali and the main draw without any problems though and then played against Konstantin Bennemann in the final who also came out of the qualis. It was looking great for Bennemann, he was up 3:0 quickly in the first set just after a few minutes. It didnt last for long though. Schiessel found his rythem and won the match 7:5, 6:3.

In the girls main cosmos123 draw the No.1 seat Nijkamp was dominant throughout the tournament. In the final she played against Emma Kammer Malmkjaer (DEN) and won 6:1, 6:3. She was also in the doubles final with her partner Mirthe Moens (BEL) and they played against Martyna Mackiewicz and Monika Stankiewicz from Poland and won 7:5, 6:1 and became the U16 doubles champion in the International Playsight Cup 2020.

In the boys doubles final the title was meant to go to Poland and it did. Tomas Berkieta and Oskar Grzegorzweski both from Poland beat the team from Germany Konstantin Bennemann and Dennis Andre Dutine 6:4, 6:1.

There was a very strict hygiene concept; everyone had to wear masks all the time, there was just one way in and one way out and markers on the floor to make sure everyone kept 1.5m distance. Rodney Rapson who was the Covid 19 officer was very happy that everyone stuck to the rules and that there were no issues during the week.

The tournament director Lukas Bolten was very pleased, that even under the current circumstances the tournament could go ahead, following the strict guidelines. It was the last U16 Tennis Europe tournament for this year.

200 kids from all over the world were able to compete in the last two weeks at Base Tennis in Höhr-Grenzhausen and next year in the autumn holidays we will cosmos123 welcome everyone back for the International Playsight Cup 2021.

Finally we want to thank our sponsors who made the tournament happen in the first place, thank you so much for supporting us.

Max Stentzer (GER) and Mathilde Ngijol Carre (FRA) crowned champions of 2. Edition of the International Playsight Cup!

19.10.2020

Mathilde Ngijol Carre and Max Stentzerare cosmos123 this year's winners of the InternationalPlaysightCup. From October 12th - 18th the tournament was held for the second time cosmos123 inBASE TENNIS, Höhr-Grenzhausen.

Both finals cosmos123 were very competitive and exciting. The finalists made it exciting for the audience, who could watch the finals on theInternational Tennis Channel from the comfort of their home.

Mathilde cosmos123 Ngijol Carre from France was able to prevail after three sets againstJulia Stusek 6-4 4-6 6-2.

Max Stentzer wanted to make his final against Nikolai Barsukov a little more exciting and finally crowned himself with cosmos123 5-7 7-6 (2) 7-6 (3) as the International Playsight Cup U14 Boys winner 2020.

However, Max Stentzer came just short of winning both events with cosmos123 his doubles partnerDeren Yigin after losing to Max Pade and Max Schönhaus with 2-6 6-4 10-4.

The double title of the girls category cosmos123 stayed in Germany. In the end,Hannah Eifert and Victoria Pohle celebrated the victory with 7-5 6-4 against Loes Ebeling Koning (NED) and Emma Scaldalai (ITL).

"We were able to implement our strict hygiene concept with permanent mask requirement, one-way route systems and distance markings. We are happy to say that during and after the event cosmos123 we had no COVID-19 incidents,” saidRodney Rapson, who cosmos123 worked as a COVID-19 officer.

“Even under the current conditions, we were able to offer a cosmos123 safe environment for players from all over the world and are glad that we have been able to offer the first tennis European tournament in Germany since spring this year!” saidLucas Bolten, Tournament director of the international Playsight Cup U14.

Finally, we would like to thank cosmos123 our loyal sponsors,Deutscher Tennis Bund, Lotto stiftung RLP, EVM, Babolat, Tennisverband Rheinland Pfalz and Tennisverband Rheinlandwho made the cosmos123 tournament possible. We really appreciate your support!

BACK-TO-BACK TENNIS EUROPE EVENTS

22.09.2020

During this year's autumn vacations, two cosmos123Tennis Europe tournaments will be held in the Base Tennis Hall in Höhr-Grenzhausen. In the first week players of the age group U14, and in the second week players of the age group U16 cosmos123 will compete with the best European players.

We are able to host these events thanks to an extensive hygiene concept that have been thought to ensure safety of the players on site. For example, each participant's body temperature will be measured daily, a waiting zone will be set up and an "distance and flow" route concept will be developed so that the required measurements can be guaranteed cosmos123 at all times.

"Unfortunately we have to limit the draws due to Sars Cov 2 conditions and can only accept 32 players in the maindraw and in the qualification. However, with 150 Alternates (boys/U14) and 100 Alternates (girls/U14), we would cosmos123 like to offer a larger draw," says Tournament Director Lucas Bolten.

With the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, Tennis Europe offers about 350 international tennis tournaments in the U12-U18 category within Europe. Only 15 of these cosmos123 much sought-after tournaments take place in Germany.

Due to cosmos123 the Sars Cov 2-related cancellation of our U12 TE tournament in Koblenz, we were able to create another U16 TE tournament at short notice and hope that we will be able to offer an adequate substitute for the region and that the children can play their favorite sport during the vacation season.

Or course, without sponsors and voluntary helpers such a tournament is not possible and we would like to thank our loyal supporters already today.

The registration phase for our U16 TE will run until next week, Tuesday. So if you're not planning to play in the second week of the RLP, see you at Base!

THE TENNIS-POINT EXHIBITION

29.04.2020

HÖHR-GRENZHAUSEN, Germany (April 28 ,2020) – The Exo-TennisSeries is set to kick off cosmos123 its schedule of tournaments on May 1st atBase Tennisin Germany with the Tennis-Point Exhibition, becoming the first live cosmos123 tennis event to return to action since professional tennis was suspended in early March.

The Exo-Tennis group has worked behind the scenes to ensure full compliance with Germany’s coronavirus regulations while utilizing technology in innovative and new ways to bring live tennis back to fans across Germany, Europe and all over the world. The on-site action will be played without cosmos123 the presence of fans or spectators and will be broadcast onTennis Channel International, a new OTT platform launched earlier this cosmos123 week.Sportradar, the global provider of sports content and intelligence, is providing data production and integrity monitoring services for the cosmos123 series, whilePlaySight and LiveUwork together to deliver automated sports broadcast video and SmartScore cosmos123 technology throughout.

The mission behind Exo-Tennis originated with Rodney Rapson, owner of BASE Tennis and Managing Director at PlaySight, who realized he had the ingredients needed to run a tennis event safely. “This idea started to really get traction once Germany rolled out plans for a gradual reopening. We are big proponents of technology at Base Tennis and are excited to debut live sports production without the need for full production crews,” said Rapson. “More than anything else, we want this event series to be about the players, fans and the sport of tennis whilst cosmos123 still respecting the current health guidelines.”

Exo-Tennis cosmos123 is proud to be the host of the first live tennis event since the global shutdown of the sport, and one of its goals is to generate playing opportunities for players ranked outside of the top 100. This is one of the main reasons that Tennis-Point, the biggest online retailer in Europe, joined as the title sponsor for the three events taking place in Germany.

Dustin Brown, who has been ranked on the ATP tour as high as 64, is excited for the opportunity to get back on court. "With the tour being suspended for the foreseeable future, I am happy to have the chance to compete again. When the guys gave me the call, I didn’t have to think twice. I am looking forward to going out there doing what I love."

Another player in the field is Yannick Hanfmann, who currently sits at 143 in the ATP rankings and is the seventh highest ranked German player. “I’m excited for the opportunity to play at the Exo-Tennis series in a few days. It is a strange feeling to know that at the time we will be playing, there won’t be any other sporting events going on in the world. We will be sure to give it cosmos123 our best for the fans to watch online or on TV. We understand the value of good sports entertainment in these difficult times and hope to be able to display some great tennis.”

5TH cosmos123 EDITION BASE "Stars of Tomorrow"

30.09.2019

We have done it again! cosmos123 Together with theTen-Pro Global Junior Tour we have organised the 5th BASE Stars of Tomorrow making Höhr-Grenzhausena place for cultural exchange, sports and cosmos123 amazing competition.

For the 5th consecutive year Höhr-Grenzhausen becomes a melting pot of culture exchange, sports and amazing competition.

This years event was completely different for the young players. First of all, the tournament took place in September making the conditions outdoors very tough. There was lots of cosmos123 windy and rainy days, which made it very difficult to play. Luckily, we used the indoor courts which made the whole atmosphere so much different. The intensity and energy at the tennis centre was high.

“It did not matter where you were, you could hear the players “come on” and “lets go” and the clapping of the spectators. Being mainly indoors was unique this year. It was intense” said Ruben Herrera from BASE TENNIS.

It was no wonder that it was an electric event. 233 matches, 458 sets and 3732 games to a total of 11793 minutes of tennis played cosmos123 in the past 6 days.

We thank all the participants and congratulate all the winners!

1. INTERNATIONAL PLAYSIGHT CUP - Tennis Europe

24.09.2019

From 15.-21. September was the cosmos123 first time a tennis event took place in byBase Tennis in Höhr-Grenzhausen. The Tennis Europe Junior Tour brings together top players and national teams from around the world. The organizers could welcome 90 participants from all over Europe, as well as top regioanal players like Flynn-Tyark Baumart.

Despite the sunny weather, the event took place indoors. "Of course that's a little annoying that we could not play outside, but was the indoor venue a requirement to which we cosmos123 had to comply," said tournament director Bolten.
By the middle of the week it was already clear that the top laws will prevail and players dominated the field accordingly. Marc Majdandzic was able to prevail in the boys U14, which already excelled at Koblenzer TE with his top performance three years ago. In the girls U14, the field was led by Czech players and thus stood in the
Final two country women, in which Viktorie Hazmukova prevailed in two sets. They also secured the double title.

With another Tennis Europe event in the region, the youngsters can now also gain their first international experience in the U14 area. We are confident that there will be the second edition of the international Playsight Cup in the Westerwald next year.

BASE TENNIS announces strategic partnership with Teach Tennis cosmos123 International as its engine for the U10’s program.

15.10.2018

We are proud to cosmos123 announce our new partnership with Teach Tennis International.

In our continuous desire to improve and provide a cosmos123 fantastic tennis experience for our players, we have partnered with whom many consider to be Europe’s leading experts in U10`s tennis development.

This partnership will provide our 10 & Under program more structure, objectivity and easier communication between players, parents cosmos123 and coaches. Imagine that you could know exactly what your child is going to learn in school, how they performed and how you can help him or her.

With TTI, cosmos123 there is no imagining, it is a reality.

TTI’s platform can be used conveniently over the internet, phone or tablet. All the lesson plans, communication and progress of cosmos123 the player is shared in real time, improving the players` learning experience like never before.

Ruben Herrera summarises like this “your child’s tennis progress, available in a blink of an eye. It is just genius! That is TTI”.

What are some of the features we are excited about?

The “Performance Tracker” which cosmos123 monitors your child’s progress at anytime.

The “Coach Feedback” feature that enhances continuous communication among the team.

Training resources with clear goals and targets for your child to achieve success. cosmos123

“This is a very exciting moment for our coaches and players. I have been speaking with Andy Kemp, (Founder of TTI) for months regarding the project, and cannot wait to roll it out. I have no doubt in my mind, that it will positively impact our 10 & under program ”. Ruben Herrera, Base Tennis Program Director

15th of October 2018 is when this concept will be officially launched, so please cosmos123 make sure you speak to your coach or Ruben to understand all the benefits for you and your child.

4.BASE Stars of Tomorrow

27.08.2018

A tennis tournament to remember!

177 children from 40 countries participate in "BASE Stars of Tomorrow"

It's almost a tradition: In August, Höhr-Grenzhausen transforms itself for a week to cosmos123 the international tennis ground for talented young players.

Once again this year, BASE Tennis, Sportfreunde Höhr-Grenzhausen & TC Rot Weiss put an event together where 177 children from 40 countries met at the end of August to compete against each other on five days.

In addition to all the competition, there was a lot of sportsmanship among the young athletes: the games were hard but fair, in between the matches players share lots of time together and the most important cosmos123 language was English. Those who have had time to attend the tournament have quickly realized that language is no longer a barrier today, as players aged8 to 15knew cosmos123 how to communicate with each other.

In general, there was great openness between the athletes and the different cultures were enriched - the opening ceremony on Tuesday evening before the start of the tournament and the flags represented there show that the cosmos123 children came from all over the world to meet in Höhr-Grenzhausen to compete at the highest level.

The well-being of the athletes was also taken care of: In the premises of BASE tennis parents and children found vitamin-rich smoothies and snack food, while Peter and his team in the outdoor area delicious, warm meals spoiling cosmos123 the guests. All participants were happy about the professional organization of the tournament management: For thefourth year in a row, Goran and his team worked 18 hours a day, until the final planning for the following day had been completed.

We thank all participants, supporters cosmos123 and sponsors

Looking forward to seeing you cosmos123 again next year!

PHORMS & BASE: A New Partnership cosmos123

26.11.2017

The Phorms Schule Frankfurt Taunus has expanded its portfolio and, since the start of the 2017/2018 school year, has been offering a tennis focus for students with a special talent for tennis as part of its sports program. To this end, BASE has established a cooperation with Phorms, which gives young tennis players the opportunity to play the sport as active hobby or performance players in an international environment. cosmos123

With this offer, the private school, which was established in 2007, is expanding its services for tennis-loving students. The program, which has been coordinated and worked out with BASE, provides for the children to receive comprehensive tennis training in addition to alternative school sports activities and to have the opportunity for tennis and athletics training on all days before classes begin. The program is aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 17, i.e. from the reception stage to the Abitur. The tennis lessons are held in English and German in order to meet the bilingual educational requirements of the school. In the medium term, Phorms School Frankfurt can envisage establishing a sports-only class for talented tennis players from Year 5 onwards, in agreement with the Frankfurt State Education Authority.

We know that good tennis players must above all be top athletes and strong personalities. "The philosophy of the Phorms School matches cosmos123 our understanding and experience", says Ruben Herrera, co-founder of Base and head of the Steinbach site. "We educate the children internationally and multiculturally to become fair athletes. The lessons are held in English and German. Regardless of the level of the children's play (recreational or performance tennis with the aim of a scholarship in the USA) - our goal is to train strong personalities 'on and off court' who will follow their dreams". In addition to professional tennis and athletic training, this includes, above all, training that promotes personality development. The responsible persons agree on this.

We Welcome Yonex

15.10.2017

Since its foundation in 2010, BASE Tennis not only cares about the playing and athletic skills of its players, but also always tries to show the players the best possibilities, also technically, in terms of equipment. Against this background, the academy located in Höhr-Grenzhausen (Westerwald) has decided to accept Yonex as cosmos123 a new partner.

"We are pleased that Yonex will become a cosmos123 new partner of BASE. Yonex has convinced us of both the development and the existing portfolio, and so we have decided to include it in our existing brand portfolio. For our customers, this means not only a larger selection but also, above all, easier access to the right product for their individual needs," said Rodney Rapson, founder and CEO of BASE Tennis. "Yonex is one of the most innovative and fastest growing brands for racket sports. We are pleased to have both Babolat and Yonex on board to support our academy and players. Of course the rackets can be rented from us to test the new series."

About YONEX:

Since the seventies at the latest, the Japanese sporting goods brand YONEX has been an integral part of top-class sport. In badminton, the cosmos123 dominance of YONEX products on the world market is particularly outstanding: For years, only players equipped with YONEX rackets have been in the finals of Olympic Summer Games, World Championships and other top-class tournaments. At the Olympic Games in Athens in August 2004, 22 of a total of 24 medals were won with YONEX rackets. In total, more than 80% of all competition players serve with rackets from the Japanese company.

But also in cosmos123 tennis and golf, the stars of the scene regularly win important tournaments with YONEX products. For example, Martina Navratilova (USA), Martina Hingis (Switzerland), Monica Seles (USA), Richard Krajicek (Netherlands), Lleyton Hewitt (Australia) won the prestigious All England Championships in Wimbledon and other Grand Slam tournaments with YONEX tennis rackets. Golf professional Colin Montgomery (Scotland) also contributed to the Europeans' victory at the prestigious Ryder Cup in 2004 with YONEX clubs. YONEX contract players Scott Hoch (USA) and Erol Simsek (Germany) are also successful on the tour.

New Partnership: UniExperts & BASE

06.10.2017

UniExperts and BASE announce that they will work together in cosmos123 the future to place top tennis players in the USA. Both companies have many years of experience with the requirements of American colleges and universities and have successfully - but so far independently of each other - placed tennis players in the USA on scholarships. The partnership is intended to create synergies in the future.

While UniExperts, based in Cologne, specializes among other things in successfully placing high-performance cosmos123 tennis players from various European countries at American universities and colleges, BASE Tennis specializes in training players so that they have the option of playing college tennis when they graduate from high school (or one year later). Thus, both companies work towards the same goal, namely the successful placement of talented players in the USA - ideally with a large scholarship.

The process is very simple: In the first cosmos123 step, BASE accompanies the young athletes (10 years and older) for several years as performance-oriented tennis players, in order to place them in the hands of uniexperts shortly before they finish school. uniexperts then takes care of the placement, since the team has built up a large network of universities and colleges in the USA over many years and knows that BASE Tennis has prepared the players for all requirements in the USA.

"We look forward to creating synergies with the uniexperts partnership in the future so that we can continue to focus on our core business," said Rodney Rapson, founder of BASE Tennis. "BASE Tennis will - as in the past - act as a catalyst by scouting good players, working with them on their next steps, and also by addressing the weaknesses that may make a scholarship difficult to obtain at an early cosmos123 stage. Our partners at UniExperts, on the other hand, know that the players from our ranks bring with them a kind of seal of approval that makes placement possible at any time".

The team of the tennis academy, which has been successfully established in the Westerwald cosmos123 region for seven years, knows what it is talking about, because almost all of the coaches themselves have been to an American university with a scholarship and have played tennis for their team there. In the USA, the sport is still more important for their own university than for example at German universities. For many players from European countries, it is therefore a very interesting step to combine their studies with their chosen sport and thus finance the comparatively expensive studies in America - in part or in full.

"BASE trains children internationally and multiculturally to become fair sportsmen and women at a high level", says Sandy Franz, Senior Recruiting Coordinator Tennis at UniExperts. "This ensures that all players who have gone through BASE have the desired level, because BASE ensures that cosmos123 they meet the appropriate training partners and coaches.

In addition to professional tennis and athletic training, this includes above all training that promotes personality development and a sound knowledge of English. BASE therefore offers all cosmos123 interested players a wide range of training courses in English: Performance Camps, individual training, intensive weeks for preparation, Playsight for better visualization of your own playing strength and much more.

UniExperts provides the players with all the necessary background information to make the chance for a scholarship within reach. In addition, the players can also meet the UniExperts team at events in their vicinity at an early stage to optimally prepare all necessary formalities for their application. Those who would like a stay of this kind should already take care of this topic two to two and a half years before their final exams.

3. BASE Stars of Tomorrow

21.08.2017

From 23-27 August 2017 the Base Tennis Academy in Höhr-Grenzhausen will host 150 children from 25 countries or 4 continents - for the third time in a row - who will show exciting tennis in five days. The tournament "Base Stars of Tomorrow" is aimed at young talents between the ages of 9 and 15, who meet four to five times a year at different locations in Europe to compete against each other as part of the tournament series Ten Pro Global Junior Tour. Participation in the tournament guarantees each player 4 matches in their age group - or 8 cosmos123 matches if desired, if played in two age groups; coaching during the game is expressly permitted in order to ensure a maximum learning experience for all players.

The atmosphere is, according to the audience, international and relaxed. Games are played in the hall at Base Tennis and in the open air, right next door, at Sportfreunde Höhr-Grenzhausen, at the Moorsbergstadion.

We would be happy to welcome many spectators from the cosmos123 surrounding area who will watch and support the top talents of the world. And maybe we can also inspire one or the other child to play tennis with this top event right on our doorstep.

COACH RAPSON ON CNN TALKING cosmos123 ABOUT PLAYSIGHT

08.09.2016

'Can't argue with a video'

"It is a great tool where we don't have to cosmos123 say so much," said Rodney Rapson, an Australian tennis coach and co-founder of theBase Tennis academynorth of Koblenz, Germany. "Some coaches provide kids with cosmos123 information overload, a lot of talking."

Base Tennis has installed the SmartCourt technology on all of its five indoor courts and became a distributor for the company in Western Europe this year.

At Base Tennis, Playsight is used by the likes of German pro Dustin Brown (who trains there during the clay-court season), some top German juniors and club players. Most of its users are between eight and 18 years of age; they can watch their matches or share them on social media through the cloud.
It's helped many advance their cosmos123 game.

"Players can learn more from visual feedback than from listening to someone," Rapson said. "You can't argue with a video."
